Wilson Family Movies

Our family is so fortunate to have old movies that my Grandpa took in the 1950’s and 60’s. A few years ago my oldest brother put them onto DVD, which was a real undertaking. With them being so old, they were very brittle and would break when they were put into the projector. As a kid growing up it was a real treat so be able to watch them up on the big screen. To see my mom as a little girl visiting the London Zoo, seeing my great Grandparents, watching my grandpa drive across the brand new Trail Bridge. These movies are pretty special. A few of my grandparents friends have shown some interest in wanting to see the old movies so my aunt has decided to throw a movie night. Today I worked on the invitation, I even included a few pictures from the film.

Bon voyage card

I haven’t added a post in a while and I thought it was time. I wanted to share a card I made today for my friend Amber who is going to Mexico for a while. I was asked to make it by another friend and the request was if I could add pages for more people to write in it. So after browsing Pinterest and sleeping on it for a couple days, this is what I came up with.

I used paper from the Close to My Heart Buzz and Bumble Collection along with the Sightseer stamp from the Spring/Summer 2013 catalogue.

Golden anniversary

I am so excited I am up here in my new scrapbook room! I will post pictures soon, but I want to get it finished before I do. I still need to hand blinds, a few pictures and find some curtains. Aside from that I am getting organized and so excited to have room to play. My mom did request a card last week and after all the help she gave me painting I figured I better hurry and get it done. This is a card for a 50th anniversary, so a really special one. I decided to make two, I am not as happy with the first one, it wasn’t as pretty as I want it to be, it is missing something still. So I decided to start a new one and I am much happier with the result. I am showing you both so I would love to know what you think.
Hope she likes it.

Ruby wedding

So yesterday I had a request to make a 40th anniversary card. I said yes of course, but not really realizing how chaotic my room is. We have just finished moving our son to the basement, and shuffling around beds as we just got a king size. So my scrapbook room not only has all my stuff in it but also a queen sized bed. We still have to paint the new room so there is stuff everywhere. But I got one done and even tried out the embossing machine. I love the vintage look.

Special Vacation

So this morning while I was out, a friend asked me if I would make a card for her grand daughter that is going on a very special vacation across the country with some friends. To tell you the truth, any cards I have made I have given to my mom to give away or given them away myself. I have never made a card by special request. I have also never made a vacation card before. Cards are not my specialty and I always find it a challenge to make them, but I have to say this was fun.

I searched through my papers and I seem to have more vintage travel papers, and of course quite a few papers specifically for the UK. I had to do some digging though my stack. I ended up making two, as I think the first one is not “girly” enough. I have to say I think my second one will be perfect.
Let me know what you think.
